This will be a composition/sculpture for the big ASM show at Merkin Concert Hall.  It's for saxophone quartet, and will be premiered by NYC's Collide Quartet. Gotta finish the composition toot-sweet so I'll have time to build the sculpture!

This will be a piece for trombone and electronics commissioned by Jen Baker with the ample assistance of Meet the Composer. I'm still hammering out some initial details, such as the nature of the electronics, but I hope to get in full swing as soon as the above piece is done.

Humanity and Mechanicity in the Music of nine inch nails

The central reason that the above piece is having difficulty getting completed, this is the title of my upcoming PhD composition at the CUNY Graduate Center. I will be analyzing all four major nine inch nails albums (five if WITH TEETH comes out in time), including a close reading of one or two songs from each. I'm enough of a nerd that I'm really excited about it, and enough of a punk that I want to kick my own ass. Which side will emerge victorious from this ultimate battle of the Pat's? Only time will tell, but rest assured that, either way, the rest of the world loses. Bwaaa-ha-ha-haaaaaaaah!
